However, when it comes to evaluating the reliability of Toyota cars in the aftermarket, especially those with high mileage and short residual life, a different perspective appears.
HotCars magazine researched the reliability of various Toyota vehicles in the US aftermarket and identified 12 models that stand out for their durability and continue to receive high praise from buyers. It is worth noting that even the famous Land Cruiser SUV and the reliable Hilux pickup could not top the list.
The 2014 Toyota Camry tops this rating. This sedan boasts an excellent consumer rating of 4.4 out of 5 and a top reliability rating of 92 out of 100.

The 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback is the next most reliable. It shares the Camry's 92-point reliability rating, but has a slightly lower consumer rating of 0.1 points.
The 2018 Toyota RAV4 earned a bronze award in the rating, scoring 88 out of 100 in the reliability category and 4.4 out of 5 in the consumer vote.
