Mercedes stops production of the quirky Maybach crossover.

The premiere of the concept car took place at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2018 under the name Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury. It was distinguished by an unconventional design and aimed to combine the high landing and wide ground clearance of a crossover with the three-dimensional proportions of a sedan.  The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury was originally identified as a design study, while 2020 press reports suggested a 2025 production plan specifically designed for the Chinese car market. However, recent information from three insider sources, as reported by the German newspaper Handelsblatt, indicates that the project has been completely canceled by Mercedes.  Mercedes-Maybach GLS.  The proposed production model, which would be 5,260 mm longer than the GLS, promised a luxurious and technologically advanced four-seat interior. Unlike conventional luxury cars of this size, it was powered by four 750 hp electric motors. combined with an 80 kWh battery pack and boasted an impressive range of 550 km.  Initially, the EVA2 chassis was planned to be used in combination with the Mercedes EQE sedan and its crossover, but the company decided not to introduce a third body type in the form of the EQE SUS (Sport Utility Sedan).
