New and improved Hyundai Ioniq 5 - new body and improved model range.
South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has officially introduced the updated version of the Ioniq 5, which includes a basic electric car and a performance-oriented version with the N prefix.
It is noteworthy that all variants have a significantly increased range, which has now increased by about 10%.
A notable addition to the lineup is the arrival of a new version known as the N line, which is positioned as an intermediate configuration of the Ioniq 5 line.
This is the first model change for the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which comes three years after its first public launch. In the face of fierce competition in the market, especially with the aggressive initiatives of Chinese manufacturers, this global upgrade is seen as a strategic step to maintain competitive advantages.

The increase in power reserve is due to the introduction of a new battery with an increased capacity from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh. Hyundai claims that the battery uses advanced technology that makes it less susceptible to changes in both hot and cold temperatures.
In terms of appearance, the updated Hyundai Ioniq 5 retains some visual similarities with its pre-model siblings. The decision not to develop a completely new body was made for reasons of economic efficiency, since electric cars already have a modern appearance. In particular, the decision was made to avoid unnecessary price increases through the introduction of additional improvements that could affect consumer interest, especially in the face of growing price competition from Chinese manufacturers.
Instead, the top model, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, underwent changes in the exterior design. This version has a new body kit, including updated bumpers and sills that convey a more aggressive aesthetic. The R20's distinctive wheel rims further enhance the visual appeal.
All variants of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 have structural improvements under water that are not immediately noticeable. Reinforcements on the rear rack and four side doors are designed to increase the strength of the body. Specific details of how the reinforcements will be applied have not been revealed, leaving room for speculation about the possibility of additional internal reinforcements or the use of stronger alloys.

To satisfy customers who prefer classic design elements, several physical buttons have been added to the cabin. Taking into account customer feedback that the wireless charging panel is inconveniently located, it has been moved to a higher place in the cabin.
Serial production of the updated Hyundai Ioniq 5 has already started, and it will be available in dealerships in South Korea in March. A global launch in other countries is planned for the end of 2024. Prices for the modified Hyundai Ioniq 5 have not yet been announced.
