Renault will release a model that will compete with the electric Mini Cooper.

The return of Renault's subcompact hatch to compete with the electric Mini Cooper has attracted a lot of attention, although some details remain under wraps. Thanks to patent images from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), enthusiasts have gained valuable insight into how the all-electric R5 is turning from concept to reality. True to the 2021 concept, the production version of the new Renault 5 accurately repeats most of its styling cues, including the silhouette and wheel design. However, a closer look reveals subtle differences such as a more subdued Renault badge on the front fascia, plain door mirrors and handles, and improved left and right headlamps. A noticeable feature of the exterior is the new charge level indicator located above the hood. Inspired by the unique air intakes of the original Renault 5, the indicator is a functional feature of the electric car. Renault R5 2024. This space is cleverly used in a graphic panel that lights up when the car is in motion or connected to a charging station and shows the charging status. When the battery is fully charged, the LED display takes the shape of the number 5. The images also show the latest headlights with black dots in the center of each lens, reminiscent of the pupil of the human eye. The design pays homage to the iconic commercials of the first five models. Renault R5 2024. Further references to the classic Renault 5 can be seen in the vertically positioned headlights joined by a black trim, while the side panels have small protrusions to improve aerodynamics and add a stylish touch. The rear of the electric car boasts a rear wing inspired by the R5 Turbo, which further accentuates the hot hatchback aesthetic. Reminiscent of the classic R5 Turbo, this design element effortlessly adds a bright and visually appealing touch to the upcoming Renault 5 Electric, showing that Alpine doesn't have to go to great lengths to create an attractive exterior.
