Toyota bZ4X crashes in ANCAP crash test.
The Japanese crossover Toyota bZ4X passed the safety assessment by the Australian agency ANCAP, which uses a unique methodology different from EuroNCAP standards.
Australian safety assessments focus on active safety systems to prevent accidents. Despite some flaws found during the tests, the bZ4X received the highest rating of five stars in all crash tests. Assessments have shown that under certain conditions, the driver and passengers may receive a number of serious injuries.
The Toyota bZ4X, launched in 2021, received an 88% rating for occupant protection. Pedestrian protection was slightly lower at 79%, but driver assistance systems received the highest rating at 93%, with ANCAP experts particularly praising the crossover's integrated emergency braking and lane control systems.

In frontal rollover accidents, drivers are at high risk for chest injuries, and front-seat passengers can suffer leg injuries. Pedestrians should remember the front pillar of the crossover.
In Ukraine, the Toyota bZ4X is available at a price starting at $28,500.
The ANCAP safety rating highlights Toyota's commitment to improving overall road safety by prioritizing the integration of advanced driver assistance technologies as well as passenger protection.
While the bZ4X may be a bit of a concern under certain test conditions, its overall safety performance and robust driver assistance systems position it as a competitive choice in the crossover market, befitting Toyota's reputation as a reliable and safe car maker.
